Education
Jason Paul has always had a passion for the search for truth and justice, and has sought out an educational path to enhance that focus. As early as high school, Mr. Paul was drawn to advocacy and was recognized as an elite national debater for Pine Crest Prepatory School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Mr. Paul went on to co-found the Speech and Debate program at Lafayette College, in Easton, Pennsylvania. During his studies, he was one of a handful of students nominated and selected as a McKelvy Scholar. The group, who would regularly discuss social and political issues and publish an annual journal, was featured on CBS morning news.
After obtaining his Bachelor's in Political Science from Lafayette College, Mr. Paul went on to obtain his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami.
Awards
Jason has been recognized on multiple occasions as a Super Lawyer, Rising Star, and has given presentations regarding Nursing Home Litigation, and Civil Litigation. Mr. Paul has also been recognized on numerous occasions for his pro bono work for abused and neglected children by the Supreme Court of Florida, the Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar, and the Florida Pro Bono Coordinators Association. Mr. Paul's pro bono work contributed to Paul & Perkins being given the Law Firm Award of Excellence by the Legal Aid Society.
Community and Civic Activities
While a significant amount of Jason’s professional time is devoted to fighting for the rights of the elderly, Jason dedicates substantial time and energy every week volunteering as a guardian ad litem for abused or neglected children. In addition to intellectual pursuits, Jason enjoys basketball, tennis, fishing, and most of all, spending time with his wife and two children.
Biography Overview
Since his graduation, Mr. Paul has focused his practice on the representation of injured clients, as well as the families of the victims of wrongful death. A partner and shareholder of Paul & Perkins, P.A., Jason largely concentrates his practice in nursing home abuse and neglect. In addition, he practices in the areas of insurance disputes, construction litigation, bad faith litigation, professional negligence, and general personal injury.
Mr. Paul has obtained numerous verdicts for his clients in both the trial and arbitration setting, and has obtained multiple seven figure settlements and verdicts in the areas of premises liability, professional negligence, and nursing home/group home abuse and neglect.
